Virtual Umbrella

Based in Brighton, Virtual Umbrella is a specialist marketing agency with a focus on virtual reality and immersive technology, founded in 2015. Rather than covering the full spread of generic marketing disciplines, its work centres on businesses entering or operating within the immersive industry, and it describes working with organisations across the UK and internationally. The team positions itself as a partner for companies stepping into VR for the first time as well as those running more complex, ongoing immersive projects, working on either an agile project basis or a retained service model. Services are organised around three areas: creative services, including content creation, strategic planning and branding for VR experiences; technical consultancy, covering strategy, testing and content distribution; and delivery partnership, which includes festival organisation, event management and equipment hire, such as providing XR technicians on site at events. The agency also runs its own events within the immersive space and has organised a large-scale VR festival in London. Alongside client project work, Virtual Umbrella publishes case studies and a blog, and offers a whitepaper download and workshops aimed at businesses looking to understand the commercial and creative potential of immersive technology before committing to a project.
