Founded in 2016 as a one-person operation in Johannesburg, FUTR Agency built its early client base among small South African businesses across sectors including dentistry, fire protection, logistics, contract manufacturing and retail. Over time its reach extended beyond South Africa to clients in the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, the Mediterranean and North America, including work for a yacht brokerage and white-label partnerships. The team remains small, with 1-10 people, and the agency describes itself as an independent digital transformation and experience partner rather than a conventional marketing agency, having been incorporated as FUTR Technology Group (Pty) Ltd in 2023. Declared services include search engine optimization, pay-per-click, social media marketing, UX/UI design and web design, but the agency's own account of its work emphasises a shift away from campaign-based marketing toward the systems underneath it — websites built to actually process orders, automation designed to remove manual steps from a process, and migrations handling large customer databases. It describes recognising a small number of recurring failure patterns after repeated work across many sectors, and frames design, engineering and website automation as a single connected system rather than separate services.
