How to use these simulators without fooling yourself
A simulator predicts nothing: it makes explicit the assumptions you are already carrying. Its value is that it forces you to write down a conversion rate, a margin and a ramp-up period, and then to see which of the three is actually carrying the conclusion. Change one input at a time: if the result collapses the moment margin moves from 50 to 35 %, your decision is about margin, not about SEO.
Two rules make these models useful in a meeting. First, always present three scenarios — conservative, central, upside — rather than a single number that invites an argument about method. Second, work in gross profit rather than revenue: it is the only figure comparable to a provider's fee, and the most common omission in SEO business cases.
Finally, confront the output with real data as soon as you can. Your own Search Console impressions beat any estimated volume, and the verified performance published on this site shows what comparable programmes actually produced.
