A page with one clear H1 and descriptive H2s is easier for an engine to segment into passages, which matters more now than it used to: featured snippets and AI answers are assembled from passages rather than whole pages. Headings phrased as the questions readers actually ask make those passages far easier to lift.
The old rules about exactly one H1 per document are less rigid than the folklore suggests, but the underlying discipline still pays: do not use heading tags for visual sizing, do not skip levels for style, and make sure a reader scanning only the headings understands what the page covers.
